Cara has been a healthcare professional and skincare expert for over 10 years. Her accumulated expertise is in the development of medically supervised skincare regimens for damaged, aging and/or problem skin as well as the creation of key maintenance programs to protect and prolong good skin health. Together with Doctor Vistnes, Cara researches and tests treatments and products for their efficacy and potency before offering them to patients, ensuring that SkinSpirit’s patients receive personalized programs using the most advanced technologies and formulations available today.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Cara earned her registered nursing degree at the Calgary Foothills Hospital in 1990. Her first assignments took her into the hospital's plastic surgery department and their burn unit. In the burn unit, Cara learned valuable techniques and healing therapies that are incorporated into her daily patient care today.
Cara moved to California in 1992 where she worked as a surgical nurse at Stanford Hospital. Cara then went into private practice at Dr. Vistnes' office in 1997 where she developed an expertise in Collagen, BOTOX®Cosmetic and office–based laser treatments for a variety of problems. Additionally, Cara served as a preceptor for Coherent Medical and currently Luminus, training doctors and nurses in the latest laser techniques with a variety of laser and Intense Pulsed Light technology. Cara is considered one the leading experts in BOTOX®Cosmetic, dermal fillers, photorejuvination, and fractional resurfacing. With her cumulative knowledge, Cara creates individualized medical grade skin care programs that deliver impressive results to a wide range of patients.
Cara, who is the proud of mom of her two amazing sons, is an active member in the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists and is up-to-date on the latest advances in plastic surgery.
