This is without a doubt my FAVORITE spa in the entire Bay Area. Until a short time ago I was living in PA and getting there was something that I did all the time. Now i live in the east bay so it is a special treat. I have seen Lynn & Michelle for my face and a couple of weeks ago I had a fantastic massage from Joe. Everyone who works there is courteous and friendly, The facility is elegant and immaculate. You can count on everyone there to get you what you need, not more than you need. Do NOT miss this place. I have never written a review but the service I just received at Skin Spirit was so exceptional and so different from past experiences with laser hair removal that I had to put fingers to keyboard. Let me start by saying I am a yoga teacher and therefore very spooked by the artificial-ness behind med spas but SkinSpirit did not give off that vibe at all! My perception was that they place wellness above anything else and all their staff exude this philosophy. So you still have access to all the state of the art treatments but in a very balanced way.
I had my first round of laser hair removal with Michele Gonzales and she rocks! She was extremely caring and careful (I've been burnt before somewhere else) - after the procedure, she changed many cold compresses and massaged hydrocortisone into my skin. Her sense of humour made me feel at ease from the start (brazilians can be awkward to being with - imagine laser...) and by the end of the treatment, it was as if we were best friends. The front desk staff is also very kind and accommodating. I wouldn't go anywhere else and am looking forward to throwing away all my razors! -L.M.

Sometimes grace comes in the form of a person's understanding of your difficulties. When I met with Lynn Bartels I had no idea what I was looking for in order to feel better about myself. Surviving the brain tumor was enough for many years, but the residual facial paralysis made me feel so self-conscious that I found it difficult to look at people directly because of the visible lack of symmetry of my face. So this is my first review on Yelp, but since I LOVE this place I thought it was deserving of a great review. I have been meeting with FAWN for the past several months in preparation for my wedding in August. She is just fantastic! At our first appointment, she put together a whole regimen to follow through to the wedding. I've been extremely impressed by her service, her knowledge, and her warm demeanor. She is great at facials! Many women raved about her, so I just had to try her out. I'm so glad that I did! Definitely worth booking in advance as she is VERY busy. -S.J.

Michele Gonzales is now a nurse a SkinSpirit. Wow! I had heard about Michele's reputation as the premier nurse midwife on the peninsula if you are a high-risk mother. She works at several hospitals. I had no need for such services because I have already had my children. But I did have some cancer surgery on my face that left me distorted with one cheek flat and drooping corners to my mouth. I pretty much figured that I would just live with the distortion; after all--love me, love my face.
Then I heard about some of my friends seeing Michele at SkinSpirit and I got interested in seeing if she could help me. She is gentle, firm, talented, professional, lovely, and my distortions are gone! So she is an artist as well.
Yes, Michele is still a nurse midwife of highest caliber and she is also helping women to be their more beautiful selves. I highly recommend Michele Gonzales at SkinSpirit! and my friends do too! -C.K.

SkinSpirit is a great place to advance your skin care up a notch. Michelle has a very warm touch and makes the toe curling IPL/Photo Facial a breeze. I've also been to Lynn who is the best injector of injectables and Botox, Restylane etc. Does it hurt? Not the Botox! Nada! She is knowledgeable and gives my face a very natural look. -J.H.

I see Fawn at SkinSpirit and I have to say, it's more that a step above your regular spa. My skin has never been so clean. It's very professional and she seems to know exactly what I need. I don't have problem skin but I really enjoy having my skin properly cleaned. In so many places you find that your skin is dirtier from all the touching and product. That is definitely NOT the case with Fawn. She introduced two wonderful things that have made a great difference without pushing product. It is expensive and I would consider it a luxury, but I do think it makes a difference, and that is hard to find. The receptionists seem a little too formal but once past that, it's great! -J.R.

SkinSpirit Salon is amazing!!! the people are friendly and the service exceptional. Annie has done my Botox several times and it is PAINLESS, and a fun experience. Her energy is contagious!!!! She is so enthusastic about what she does that she suggested IPL and I love the results My skin looks amazing.

Skinspirit's employees are what makes the spa stand out. Mercedes and Lynn both perfomed amazing treatments on me. They were professional yet completely fun and made me feel as if I'd known them forever. The IPL and Velashape treatments I received worked wonders! Highly recommend! -A.F.

By far the best esthetican I have ever been to (and I've been to a ton since I have been having facials for about twenty years) is Fawn. She really takes her time, and changes each facial depending on your skins needs at appt. time. She recommends products that she thinks will benefit your skin, but is never pushy. My skin looks better and better under her care, and my skin routine morning and night is very minimal thanks to her. She also gives the best neck, head and shoulder massage, she could easily have a second career as a massage therapist. I look forward to my appointments with her, because I know that when I'm done, my skin will look clean, healthy and refreshed. Fawn's the best, and I rave about her to all my friends -L.H.

I've been going to SkinSpirit for over four years now, and my teenage daughters have been going for that long too. I LOVE everyone I have seen at SkinSpirit. Lynn Bartels is my favorite because she is a nurse practitioner who does my botox and restalyne injections, my IPL, and my thermage, and works with my girls to alleviate their acne. She's an expert at what she does and loves her job. She is always researching and learning new methods and improving her technique by attending classes, seminars and working with other professionals. Facial contouring is both a science and an art and she is a master at both.
I have always found the front staff to be professional, knowledgeable and discreet. While their prices and products are expensive, I haven't found them cheaper any where else. And Lynn is always cognizant of money: "I want you to get the most out of your beauty budget." When Lynn has been unavailable I have seen Michelle who is also a pro.
My girls and I also get fabulous and healing facials from the estheticians; so far Cheryl is our favorite but no one has been a disappointment.
I recommend SkinSpirit to both those experienced in skin care and to novices. I have never felt pressured to buy any product or undergo any procedure. No one has ever said to me anything like "we really need to do something about those ugly circles under your eyes" or "we can make those circles go away with" such and such procedure. I'm the one who has to ask: "Is there anything you can do to reduce these ugly circles under my eyes" or "Are there other procedures that you would recommend for me". I always go into SkinSpirit feeling pretty and I walk out feeling even prettier. -H.W.

I adore SkinSpirit. They do an incredible job at bringing out the best in your skin. I've had the micro-dermaplaning by Christy and my skin felt like a baby's bottom after that. About a week later I received my first IPL from Cara and watched my patches of hyper-pigmented skin darken initially and then fall off. Now my skin is much 'creamer' in color and I still have 4-more treatments to go. I've gone to SkinSpirit for laser hair removal and I'm ecstatic about the results. I'm hair-free and I love that.
I enjoy the atmosphere of the facility... it's a cross between a spa and a doctors office (leaning more towards the spa end). As for pushing product.. I've never been on the receiving end of that. However, I was told about C E Ferulic from Skinceuticals but I was by no means 'pushed' to buy it. I did because I'm trying to start now, in my mid to late thirties, to improve my skin for the future.
I highly recommend SkinSpirit! I've loved every treatment I've received and the staff is so incredibly warm and inviting. –K.H.

I'm a Med. Esthetician and I want to share with you my experience with SkinSpirit. They definitely have a great qualified staff. I send my clients who need BOTOX®Cosmetic and fillers and different laser treatments to them. Lynn Bartels does beautiful injections and that takes an eye of a artist to do it right. Thank you SkinSpirit! I visited SkinSpirit three weeks before my wedding, after spending a small fortune with a Los Gatos plastic surgeon who gave me painful Restylene injections and, it turns out, went VERY light on the amount he used. With a short time before my wedding and a definite budget, the SkinSpirit folks (particularly Lynn & Michelle) made me look my absolute best (at 49!), and I have a wedding album full of pictures to prove it! I looked rested (which I wasn't) and calm with beautiful skin and sun damage on my neck and chest gone. Lynn & Michelle are absolutely wonderful. Regarding some negative comments I've read - Wow! - Are you sure you were at SkinSpirit? I've NEVER experienced "product pushing" or long waiting. I'd never go to another skin care clinic - If you want the latest and greatest techniques or procedures from a skilled and wonderful staff, I suggest going to SkinSpirit!

parking on site. free.
I felt no pressure from SkinSpirit to get things I don't want or need. This truly was a consultation where I asked questions, and got answers that were about me, not products.
I like that she used examples of celebs who overdo it when it comes to certain treatments, like BOTOX®Cosmetic. I like that she explained how it worked, and the history of it, and the other places it’s used in medicine that I was unaware of.

My husband had two major spinal surgeries a few years ago and suffered permanent nerve damage.
