Rachel H.: Day #2 of REBALANCE

Starting last night, I’ve been having a Cheeseburger Craving.  First waking thought this morning – cheeseburger.  I probably gained a few pounds in the night dreaming of cheeseburgers.

Plan A, visualizing healthy, slender self, was not making the thoughts go away.  I ended up with visions of healthy, slender self eating cheeseburgers.

Lucky, this is not an uncommon craving for me, so I had Plan B ready – Cheeseburger Salad.  I put jalapeno, garlic and ground bison in hot pan and saute.  The fixings – dark green salad mix, tomato, red onion, cheese (lite, organic, string cheese).  And “The Ojai Cook Chipotle Lemonaise” mixed with olive oil.  Big satisfying plate worked out to be doable 360 calories and it’s nearly 3 o’clock, and I’m not needing a big pm snack.  Probably just apple.

Plan C would have been to meet a girlfriend at a restaurant which serves really good burgers and split a “topless” cheeseburger with side salad with her.  Eat slowly and relish every bite.  But my Plan B substitution worked.  Feeling pretty good about my self too!  First roadblock overcome!

Next check-in on Thursday, I’ll ask Carli for ideas for cravings.  And see how she feels about my Plan C idea – it’ll probably be cut!
