Rachel H.: Week Two of REBALANCE

Had my first check in with Carli today.  Told her that all was good.  That I’d had about four days of adjustment during which I had some hunger and was bloated, but that I felt I adjusted quickly – the internal reaction, as well as the behavior adjustment.

Some of the keys to why I think the first week went well (besides REBALANCE support):

  • Made a large batch of soup (chicken broth, garlic, jalapeno, water, ground lean turkey, kale, white beans, rosemary, sage, and parsley) and kept in the fridge.
  • Apples!
  • MyFitnessPal.com
  • Filling up the last few calories of the day with milk with cinnamon, cardamon, and a tiny dash of rosewater – a treat before sleep.  This is why I hit 1150 calories exactly nearly each day.
  • I love reviewing the InBody Scan – seeing the numbers in an easy to understand, but scientific and professional way is inspiring

Today’s InBody scan showed overall weight loss of 4.2 pounds.  I’m not caring too much about overall weight.  My goal is to go from 36.6% body fat to 27%.  Today I was down to 36.1 – that’s the number I’ll be focusing upon, and getting my inspiration from.

Carli reviewed my food lists and I got a gold star pretty much all around.  But she sees a problem in the 2-3 “The Laughing Cow” garlic light cheese wedges I like to eat each day.  She’s told me the max per day is one and to use Greek yogurt mixed with garlic and herbs to spread on my toast.  Well, I really don’t like plain yogurt of any kind (it makes me think of licking the bottom of a pond), let alone light Greek which is what I bought, but I believe in Carli, so it’s ready to go in my fridge, mixed with basil, parsley, and chives.  I must admit that the yogurt choice is less processed than the cheese wedges, and that’s always a good thing.

.5% body fat down, 9.1% to go!
