Reanne Kelly, Instagram’s most Informative SkinCare Expert, wants you to Map your Breakouts

She’s known on Instagram as “The Master Esthetician,” and her authentic obsession with getting her followers the glow they seek has made her insta-famous. Now, she wants you to test a traditional Chinese technique – one that aims to uncover what your skin is telling you about your body.

Reanne Kelly, Master Clinical Aesthetician and Laser Tech at SkinSpirit Seattle and Redmond, Washington is a sought-after expert for everything from customized skincare routines to medical-grade products and trending treatments like Micro-Needling, Dermaplaning and the Jessner peel. She’s a master at combining treatment plans to deliver miraculous results very quickly. But one thing that has set her apart is her holistic approach, considering her patient’s stress and life balance in her recommendations.

Watch her two part video, utilizing face-overlay technology to illustrate each acne-prone area of the face and how it relates to your body, according to traditional Chinese medicine:

FACE MAPPING!!!! Why you breakout where you breakout! Swipe to see more ⏪⏪⏪ One of the last things you want to see in the morning is a new pimple poking it’s way out of your skin. Unfortunately, if you’re one of those people who find that they always seem to have acne cropping up in the same place every few weeks, it could be an indication of an underlying health problem. Luckily, traditional Chinese medicine has a solution: face mapping. 💆🏻‍♀️ The face is one of the biggest indicators of what is going on with our bodies. By looking at the skin condition and changes, we can see what imbalances are occurring in our bodies. Face mapping looks at each part of the face is linked to a certain part of the body; in general, red, pustular breakouts are indicative of Yang-type energy, and oily, whitehead or blackhead prone breakouts are indicative of Yin-type energy. Lines indicate a long-term imbalance or stress, while breakouts indicate a more short-term imbalance or stress

Reanne says, you can find out the “why” behind your breakouts with a technique known as face mapping. This fascinating concept, with its roots in traditional Chinese medicine, suggests that if you discover acne cropping up in the same place every few weeks, it could be an indication of an underlying health problem.

She says, “The face is one of the biggest indicators of what is going on with our bodies. By looking at the skin condition and changes, we can see what imbalances are occurring in our bodies. Face mapping looks at each part of the face as linked to a certain part of the body; in general, red, pustular breakouts are indicative of Yang-type energy, while oily, whitehead or blackhead prone breakouts are indicative of Yin-type energy. Lines indicate a long-term imbalance or stress, while breakouts indicate a more short-term imbalance or stress.”

Of course, Reanne also provides treatments that will dramatically reduce the appearance of acne scars and the recurrence of acne. Here is one example of a transformation that wowed us, and you can find many others on her Instagram account, @the.master.esthetician

Reanne, I love the face mapping idea. I am prone to breakouts on my cheeks, so that’s something to look into. I hope to try micro-needling soon, those results are amazing!

  • Jessica Andrews says:

Beautiful results on the peels! I love following you on Instagram, you are so thorough and informative! Keep up the treat work!!

  • Kat O. says:

Face mapping is such a good tool to determine persistent breakouts! Reanne is amazing, and my reaction to Reannes video is as always, just pure awe. She’s so knowledgeable and great at what she does! Truly a gem of an esthetician!
On another note, entering the amazing giveaway! I suffer from a lot of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that was caused from another medspa, facial/peel gone bad, where my face was literally oozing. Long story. But micropenning would be so beneficial! Crossing fingers! 🤞🏽

  • Michelle Lee says:

Every time I break out, the first place I go to is Reanne’s instagram to see the face mapping! She is so informative and helpful with all skin related problems and questions.

  • Haley M says:

Definitely want to try professional microneedling! My breakouts are hormone related, I have an endocrine disorder called PCOS and it’s seemingly impossible to clear my skin

  • Deanna Holcomb says:

I have heard that jawline breakouts tend to be hormonal. Has this been consistent with what you come across? This is my biggest area of concern.

    • Reanne Kelly says:

Yes, jawline does tend to be hormonal breakouts! Especially if you get deep cystic ones or they come around that time of the month! I recommend taking evening primrose oil as a supplement (to help balance hormones) and turmeric (to help with inflammation). Let me know if I can answer things further!

  • Kristie Ryf says:

Our skin is the largest organ we have on our body; but it also reveals our lack of sleep, hydration status, poor diet, hormonal imbalance etc. So, I agree! I for one, have had hormonal acne since I was 14. It’s been an expensive ride maintaining good skin, but I wouldn’t be able to have the skin I truly deserve to have!

  • Chavonne Rodriguez says:

  • Jordan Timlake says:

Love! Reanne’s holistic, inside and out, all around highly knowledgeable approach is just everything to me! Treating the cause rather than the symptoms is obviously the way to go, but she’s the first esthetician I’ve gone to who truly GETS it ❤️

  • Mackenzie says:

Omgoodness! After looking at those before and after photos I need to try microneedling! Wondering if you have any tips for beginning signs of Rosacea?
    Thanks
    Xx

    • Reanne Kelly says:

Microneedling is my favorite!!!! As for rosacea, I always suggest a good antioxidant (vit c helps strengthen capillaries too) and a good spf to start! A lot of capillary stress is induced by the sun or inflammation. Those two products will help immensely! Stay away from things that could cause inflammation, which in turn cause your blood vessels to stretch and shrink, which damage them: Alcohol, caffeine, hot showers, spicy foods etc. I recommend taking turmeric as a supplement to cut down on inflammation. Lastly, be gentle with your skin as not to irritate it which could cause inflammation.

  • Brittany says:

Would be lucky to win any of these products! I am SO excited and looking forward to my first facial with Reanne on 4/9!!!

Reanne, I’ve heard of this concept before but never looked into it.

I particularly get acne on my forehead and sometimes my chin (hormonal/stress/sleep)!

I’m going to read up on face mapping. Hopefully I can get on a good skin routine and tackle some of the hyper pigmentation I have from past breakouts.
