4 Tips for a Healthier Holiday Season

At SkinSpirit, we want to help you prioritize your health, so that you can look and feel your best this holiday season, and into the New Year. Here are a few tips for a healthier holiday season from our experts.

Our Favorite Healthy Holiday Hacks

1. Joy Sheppard, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner at SkinSpirit San Francisco and avid weightlifter, reminds us that “healthy” is about more than what you eat - it’s also about how you take care of your mind, body and spirit.

“Spend 5-10 minutes a day in silence,” advises Joy. “Journal, meditate, think about letting go of negative thoughts and welcoming gratitude.”

She also encourages us to find ways to give back this holiday season. “Help others, volunteer, find creative ways to be of service,” she says. “Nothing is more healthy than spreading joy to others.” If you’re not sure where to start, we encourage you to reach out to your local SkinSpirit clinic! Each of our clinics in California, New York, Texas, Utah and Washington are partnering up with a local charity to give back to those in need in their communities. Please call us at (855) 383-7546 to see how you can help.

2. Give your skin - and your hair - a boost with the right supplements. Two of our favorites include:

skinade

Skinade: We’re excited to have recently introduced Skinade in our clinics to help you drink your way to better skin this holiday season. Skinade is one of our new favorite collagen boosting supplements, containing powerful anti-aging qualities, while also helping to boost your immune system, support weight loss, and provide an energy boost. In fact, Lynn Bartels, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner at our Palo Alto clinic, calls it “the best collagen support supplement on the market.”

“My daughters, my mom, and I all love Skinade! It’s great for any age,” she says.

Call us to place an order for curbside pickup at any of our clinics in California, Washington, Texas, or Utah, or email info@skinspirit.com to have Skinade delivered to you.

Nutrafol: Improve hair strength and see added benefits - like better sleep, reduced stress levels and even clearer skin - with Nutrafol. While results do take some time to develop, this is a great time to get started, and get on your way to healthier hair in 2021. Nutrafol is available online, and an auto-delivery schedule can be set up to make staying on top of taking your supplements easy. Simply select your delivery schedule at checkout - you can always pause or cancel at any time.

3. Stop by your local clinic for a pick-me-up with a B-12 shot. B-12 shots are a great way to give you a boost in energy. They’re also shown to boost metabolism of carbohydrates and fats and because B-12 is injected rather than taken orally, it’s better absorbed to offer consistent support for cardiovascular workouts.

4. Ideally your health goals should be not only attainable during the holiday season, but sustainable long-term. We encourage you to follow a healthy diet rich in protein, and pursue fitness goals that you can stick to.

If you need some help, check out our REBALANCE Medical Weight Loss program, available in select Northern California clinics. REBALANCE is a medically supervised weight loss program designed by SkinSpirit’s Dr. Dean Vistnes, after years of research and planning, to help you safely and effectively lose 2-5 pounds a week. It is not a “diet” but rather a live-healthy, eat-healthy, medically supervised weight loss program that encourages patients to eat real, nutritious foods from all food groups.

The process begins with a body composition analysis, conducted by a Medical Assistant or Physician Assistant, and a review of your medical history, which we’ll use to provide you with a customized nutrition plan. This is a great option for those who need some extra support as they start to prioritize health, from someone who is experienced and knowledgeable.
