Last week, Pam and Rochelle from Chat With Women came into our University Village location for their initial consultation with their practitioners, Pinky and George, as the first step in their SkinSpirit makeovers. This week, the Chat With Women hosts came back to our University Village location to start receiving their treatments.
Rochelle kicked off her SkinSpirit makeover with Ultherapy. Ultherapy is the non-surgical face and neck treatment that uses ultrasound to lift and tone loose or sagging skin without any downtime. This treatment provides subtle tightening that will continue to tighten over the next few months, even long after Rochelle’s last Ultherapy treatment.
One of Rochelle’s concerns with receiving Ultherapy was whether or not the treatment would be painful for her. Comfort thresholds will vary from patient to patient, but there can be some discomfort while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. Some areas may be more sensitive than others. The discomfort is only temporary and is a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. No pain, no gain ladies! Just as a precaution, George had Rochelle take a couple of pain meds an hour before her Ultherapy treatment because he wanted Rochelle to be as comfortable as possible during her treatment.
It turns out that Ultherapy wasn’t nearly as painful as Rochelle had originally feared. Here’s a video clip on Rochelle’s response to whether or not Ultherapy is painful and just exactly what getting the treatment feels like: http://youtu.be/5UAJpUBJoqI
Pam kicked off her SkinSpirit makeover this week with two different treatments: Reaction and Sculptra. Reaction is a body contouring and skin tightening treatment that targets cellulite and circumferential reduction (e.g., makes you smaller.) Sculptra is a dermal filler designed to stimulate collagen production while filling in deep facial wrinkles and folds including the deep folds between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), also known as smile lines, the lines framing the mouth (marionette lines) and chin wrinkles.
Overall, Pam said the hardest part of her two treatments was lying down for the entire duration of her Reaction treatment. Since she was having five areas treated (both arms, both upper legs and the abdomen area), the entire treatment took over three hours! As for the Sculptra injections, Pam reported that the treatment was pretty pain free. Here’s a video clip of Pinky explaining to Pam why she chose Sculptra for her: http://youtu.be/gN2TX6AMxRo
