M. Dean Vistnes

Michael Dean Vistnes, MD, FACS, Founder and Medical Director

Recognized as an expert in his field, Stanford-trained Dr. Michael Dean Vistnes is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and is a member of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the A4M—The American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine—and a highly respected plastic surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Vistnes completed his pre-medical undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California at Davis, graduating on the Dean’s List in 1981. He received his medical training at Stanford University School of Medicine, graduating in 1987. He then applied to, and was accepted, at Stanford University’s Plastic Surgery Training Program, one of the most competitive plastic surgery training programs in the country. After six years of training, he completed both his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at Stanford in 1993. Appointed to a coveted fellowship, Dr. Vistnes did an additional full year of training in cosmetic surgery and breast surgery in Nashville, TN, at the Institute for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Vistnes is currently in full-time private practice in Palo Alto, California with a practice devoted to both aesthetic surgery and non-surgical treatments. Having recognized the growing demand for non-invasive procedures, such as laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, Collagen, BOTOX® Cosmetic, IPL and microdermabrasion, Dr. Vistnes and his staff have developed an unparalleled reputation as quality providers of these services in the Bay Area.

Cara Fonteyne, RN , Director of Medical and Aesthetic Services

Cara Fonteyne has been a healthcare professional and skincare expert for over 15 years. Her expertise is in the development of medically supervised skincare regimens for damaged, aging and/or problem skin, as well as the creation of key maintenance programs to protect and prolong good skin health. Together with Doctor Vistnes, Cara researches and tests treatments and products for their efficacy and potency before offering them to patients, ensuring that SkinSpirit’s patients receive personalized programs using the most advanced technologies and formulations available today.

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Cara earned her registered nursing degree at the Calgary Foothills Hospital in 1990. Her first assignments took her into the hospital’s plastic surgery department and their burn unit. In the burn unit, Cara learned valuable techniques and healing therapies that she has incorporated into her daily patient care today.

Cara moved to California in 1992, and she worked as a surgical nurse at Stanford Hospital. In 1997, Cara went into private practice at Dr. Vistnes’ office, where she developed an expertise in Collagen, BOTOX® Cosmetic and office-based laser treatments for a variety of problems. Additionally, Cara has served as a preceptor for Coherent Medical and Luminus, training doctors and nurses in the latest laser techniques with a variety of laser and Intense Pulsed Light technology. Cara is considered one the leading experts in BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers (Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, Sculptra), Ulthera, Fraxel, photorejuvination, and fractional resurfacing. With her cumulative knowledge, Cara creates individualized medical-grade skincare programs for patients in Palo Alto and Mill Valley that deliver impressive results

Lynn Bartels, NP, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and Trainer

Lynn Bartels has been a nurse practitioner and clinical educator for over two decades. Recognized as an expert in the field of facial rejuvenation, she has appeared on television and has been published in national magazines. She has a very busy practice in non-surgical facial aesthetics. Lynn specializes in creating custom facial rejuvenation programs that use combination therapy to produce conservative and natural results. Her practice includes volume replacement and facial shaping with neuromodulators, (BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport) and stimulatory and volumizing dermal fillers (Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm and Sculptra).

These treatments are often done in combination with antiaging skincare products and lasers including: intense pulsed light, radiofrequency technologies and fractional resurfacing and skin-tightening technologies. She is known for her “liquid facelifts” and dermal-filler techniques, which give a naturally refreshed look to the face and require very little recovery time.

Lynn is a graduate of the Harbor-UCLA nurse practitioner program, focusing on adult medicine and women’s health. She has also completed extensive certifications and training in all areas of facial rejuvenation. She is a designated clinical expert and highly requested trainer for Allergan and Medicis, and Valeant Pharmaceuticals teaching her skills to Stanford residents in addition to physicians and nurses around the country.

Lynn spends her free time raising two beautiful daughters and fundraising for the “49er Academy” and the East Palo Alto Middle School.

Joie Beck

Joie Beck, FNP-BC, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

Joie Beck is a board certified Nurse Practitioner. She is also a Bay Area native and graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelors degree in Health Education and a Minor in Holistic Health.  She then went on to earn a dual Masters degree in Nursing and Public Health followed by her Family Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification.

Joie began her clinical career as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at the University of California San Francisco medical campus where she was involved in critical care, leadership, education and best practice development.  She also worked in Infection Prevention and Control. In 2010, she developed and implemented infection prevention and best practice protocols for the Cosmetic Dermatology Department at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco medical campus.

Joie’s professional passion however, is aesthetics and she has committed herself to perfecting and evolving her knowledge, techniques and skill. Since 2007 She has worked with several Bay Area aesthetic practices where she has developed and maintained a loyal patient base.  Using a gentle, conservative approach, Joie works with her patients to create individualized treatment plans to achieve a natural, refreshed look.  She is considered an expert injector and specializes in dermal fillers using advanced techniques to lift and contour the face. Joie also has extensive experience with neuromodulators, skin resurfacing, laser technology, non-invasive body contouring and skin rejuvenation treatments.

In addition to her diverse career experience, Joie is also a guest lecturer for the Nurse Practitioner Program at San Francisco State University. She volunteers with several Bay Area organizations that provide assistance to homeless women, victims of domestic violence and substance abuse.  She is currently working to develop a skin care rejuvenation program for marginalized women who are transitioning back into the workforce.

Sherie Becker SkinSpirit

Sherie Becker, MSPAS, MPH, PA-C, Aesthetic Physician Assistant

Sherie Becker completed her undergraduate education in Medical Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she majored in Integrative Physiology. After graduation, Sherie worked as an EMT on an ambulance and as an Operating Room Assistant at Stanford Hospital and clinics.

She continued her medical education at Touro University, California where she graduated Valedictorian of her PA class and received double Masters degrees in Physical Assistant Studies and Public Health.

Since she was a teenager, Sherie has been passionate about skincare, and has always enjoyed sharing her passion with others. She strives to provide quality patient education, cutting-edge technology and customized treatment plans to her patients of all ages in order to attain healthy, glowing skin. She enjoys treating patients with Botox because it’s a treatment she believes can make a difference in skin. Treating sun damage through the use of Intense Pulsed Light(IPL) treatments is also another favorite because it can treat a variety of skin conditions including skin pigmentation, rosacea and capillaries.

In her spare time, Sherie enjoys cooking, traveling to new places in California, and beyond, with her husband; their goal is to visit all 50 states. She also loves spending time with her German Shepard, Roxy.

Ruthann Bivolcic

Ruthann Bivolcic, BSN, MSN, Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Ruthann Bivolcic, BSN, MSN graduated with a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of California at San Francisco, where she also received a Bachelors of Science degree. Ruthann began her nursing career as a Nurse Specialist supporting a Cardiovascular Team at Stanford Hospital. As a surgical assistant, Ruthann focused on educating her patients on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-surgery.

Discovering this passion for patient care led Ruthann to continue her career in corporate wellness with Pacific Bell. Responsible for 9 California clinics, she developed health, wellness and workplace ergonomic programs that served over 10,000 employees. Ruthann became interested in aesthetic and skin care services, building her own consulting practice and training with numerous aesthetic practitioners across the country.

Ruthann has practiced aesthetic nursing and skin care for the last eight years at a local plastic surgeon’s office. She’s become an expert in the latest aesthetic treatments such as Botox for crow’s feet and frown lines, dermal fillers, laser hair removal for unwanted hair, and laser skin resurfacing to reduce age spots.

Ruthann is passionate about understanding her clients’ individual skin care desires and providing them with the most effective treatments and best outcomes. Her clients appreciate Ruthann’s warm, caring style. Outside of the office, Ruthann loves cooking, kick-boxing and watching her sons play ice hockey.

Jen Corbett

Jennifer Corbett, MPAS, MPH, PA-C, Aesthetic Physician Assitant

Jennifer Corbett has been a practicing Physicians Assistant for nearly a decade, serving clients in SkinSpirit’s Palo Alto and Walnut Creek locations. Jennifer has a busy practice in non-surgical facial aesthetics. She has achieved significant success in creating client programs, tailored to age and skin condition, that use a combination of treatment modalities to produce effective, natural facial rejuvenation with little or no downtime.

Jennifer has undergone extensive training, and is considered an expert among her peers in administering medical-grade skincare, including Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport, Dermal Fillers, Kybella, PRP Micro-penning, Laser Resurfacing (Fraxel, ResurFX, CO2), IPL (photofacial), Ultherapy and Laser Hair Removal. She participates in advanced trainings multiple times a year, to remain on the cutting edge of anti-aging technology. Her practice includes all aspects of non-invasive facial rejuvenation, such as volume replacement, facial shaping with neuromodulators, skin resurfacing and skin-tightening.

Jennifer earned a Master’s Degree in both Physician Assistant Studies and Public Health, from Touro University, California, following receipt of a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Santa Clara University. As a graduate student, specializing in Cosmetic and General Dermatology, she participated in extended rotations with renowned cosmetic specialists in Los Angeles and Orange County. Since then, she has consistently been an active member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants (AAPA), California Academy of Physicians Assistants (CAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physicians Assistants (SDPA).

Jennifer’s passion for medicine began as a young girl, while working in her father’s prominent ophthalmology practice. In later years, Jennifer worked alongside him assisting in cosmetic procedures, including Botox injections, Blepharoplasty and Ocular Reconstructive surgery. These experiences ignited a desire to pursue aesthetic medicine.

Today, Jennifer is an artist in the treatment room. She combines an inherent aptitude for aesthetics with a sincere motivation to help each and every one of her patients restore and maintain a natural youthful look. Her goal is to provide patients with the education and tools necessary to complement the natural aging process, which includes promoting every facet of a healthy lifestyle. Above all, she is passionate about empowering her patients to feel healthy and beautiful, both inside and out.

Andrea Frederick

Andrea Frederick, RN, MSN, NP, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

As a Nurse Practitioner, Andrea Frederick is an expert in facial rejuvenation using combination therapy to produce both natural and conservative results. She began her medical studies at University of California, Santa Cruz, where she completed a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Andrea then completed a Masters in Nursing and became a Certified Nurse Practitioner at San Francisco State University. Prior to working in medical aesthetics, Andrea spent 11 years at Stanford Hospital and Clinics working in Cardiology.

Andrea has participated in multiple state-of-the-art trainings from world-class leaders in dermal filler and injection techniques. She is an expert with using injectable neuromodulators and volumizers to create a subtle and natural result. Andrea is passionate about combining her expert training, along with her desire to help give her clients the rejuvenated and restored look they wish to achieve.

In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son. She stays active by bike riding and walking.

Lauren Gallagher BW 2

Lauren Gallagher, RN, BSN, Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Healthcare is Lauren Gallagher’s passion. Lauren worked in healthcare and hospital administration for six years before returning to school to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Samuel Merritt University. She decided to pursue Aesthetics professionally to combine her love for all things science with helping others learn how to take better care of their skin through innovative technology – including treatments, procedures and machines.

Working in the aesthetics field allows Lauren the opportunity to make a contribution to her clients’ overall well-being on a daily basis. She is grateful every day she comes into work and is able to help her clients feel better about the way they look and feel. Lauren ultimately wants to assist her clients to achieve a better version of their self. “If I can help my clients to look and feel their best, then I feel like I’ve been successful.”

Clients who see Lauren say she’s fun, easy to talk to and very caring. “If we aren’t laughing at some point during our appointment together, I’d be surprised. I want my clients to leave our appointment having had a great experience.”

In her free time, Lauren enjoys exploring the Bay Area, whether it’s at a museum, new restaurant or a concert with friends. Lauren enjoys volunteering in healthcare related community outreach programs locally.

Michele Gonzales BW 1

Michele Gonzales, RN, NP, CNM, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

Michele Gonzales is a UC Berkeley graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and Jurisprudence, and a graduate from UCSF where she earned her Masters of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwifery Certificate. After many years of working as a distinguished Nurse Midwife, Michele decided to explore the creative side of nursing with Aesthetics and came to SkinSpirit in 2008.

Michele is passionate about helping her clients look as good as they feel in the most natural way possible. It’s her excellent touch and skilled hands that keeps Michele’s clients coming back.  Michele loves the artistic nature of fillers and Botox/ Dysport and the skin rejuvenation with lasers and MicroPenning. Michele’s priority with her clients is always to listen to their concerns and deliver their desired results after many undesired results of her own experience at hair salons.

In addition to being a full-time aesthetics expert, Michele is also a volunteer for The Fistuala Foundation, an organization that provides surgical repairs for women injured during childbirth. In her free time, Michele enjoys cooking, gardening, caring for her three sons, two grandsons, and her Goldendoodle, Bodhi.

Tristen Heitz PA-C

Tristen Heitz, PA-C, Aesthetic Physician Assistant

Tristen Heitz is a graduate of Stanford University’s School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program with 17 years of experience. Tristen found her true passion and calling when she began her post-graduate fellowship in esthetic, medical, and surgical dermatology.  She has worked for three premier dermatology practices in the South Bay and Marin, perfecting her skills under the guidance of industry experts.

Tristen is proud to be a guest lecturer for the Stanford School of Medicine Physician Assistant program.  Her solid foundation in medical dermatology is an asset she brings with her to SkinSpirit, helping create the best care plan for each patient according to his or her medical and esthetic needs. Her highest priority is patient satisfaction and making sure each patient feels heard and understood.

Tristen believes esthetic medicine is an art and recreating a natural, balanced, youthful look is a talent, and her way of expressing her creative side.  She is highly skilled and most passionate about using all dermal fillers and selecting the perfect product to create the best look for each patient. Additionally, Tristen is skilled in submental fat reduction using Kybella, neuromodulators such as Botox Cosmetic® and Dysport; skin resurfacing treatments such as medical micro-penning, Fraxel, ResurFX, and Photofractional; as well as Ultherapy for skin tightening; and IPL to even skin pigment, minimize the appearance of pores and clear broken capillaries.

Tristen shares a love of learning and continues to further her education by keeping current with all dermatologic and esthetic advancements.  She is a Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and The American Academy of Physician Assistants.  In addition to dermatology Tristen has worked in women’s health, primary care, surgery and gastroenterology. Her interest, knowledge and experience with alternative and holistic medicine compliments her ability to enhance health and beauty from the inside out.

Torrey Higgins, RN, MS, NP, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

Torrey Higgins graduated from the University of San Francisco Nurse Practitioner Program in 2002, ranked #1 in her class. After graduating, she worked as a Nurse Practitioner at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Endocrinology. Several years later, she moved to Italy, where she worked in the Medical Unit at the US Embassy in Rome for five years. During that time, she provided Primary Care to American diplomats and their family members.

Torrey has been with SkinSpirt for over five years. She has extensive knowledge and training in Ultherapy, Fraxel, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, Kybella, laser hair removal and medical-grade skincare. Torrey’s treatment goals are focused on providing very natural, rejuvenating results in a gentle manner.

Lindsay Jones

Lindsay Jones, BS, MPAS, PA-C, Aesthetic Physician Assistant

It was an interest in art, skin, and beauty, along with her desire to help people feel their absolute best that made Lindsay pursue a career in the field of aesthetics. After earning her master’s degree from Samuel Merritt University and becoming an NCCPA certified Physician Assistant, Lindsay began performing laser and injectable treatments. In addition to her multiple years of experience as a practitioner, she also has worked as a trainer for new medical providers in various aesthetic procedures.

Lindsay understands how her clients can be greatly affected by their outward appearance. She enjoys the whole process of exploring and finding the ideal treatment plan to fulfill each individual’s aesthetic goals. As a Physician Assistant, Lindsay works closely with her clients to help enhance their natural beauty and features by accentuating and adding to what they already have. She finds great satisfaction in being able to deliver the results her patients have been looking for, while exceeding their expectations. Lindsay’s goal is to have each of her clients walking out the door looking and feeling their best.

In her free time, Lindsay enjoys staying active by running, hiking, surfing and swimming. She also loves spending time with friends and family.

Michelle Jones graduated from UC Davis in 2006 where she studied Exercise Biology and went on to become a Registered Nurse. When it comes to working in the beauty industry, Michelle is passionate about providing cutting-edge skin care and delivering results through the use of anti-aging technologies. She enjoys performing cosmetic injections, especially to enhance lips. Michelle has received advanced training from Allergan in popular injectable services such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Juvederm and Voluma as well as an advanced injectable certification through the National Laser Institute.

Michelle is inspired by the science behind skin care treatments and feels like aesthetic nursing is the perfect mix of art and science. She loves to help her clients feel better about themselves by looking more youthful. Her clients appreciate her attention to detail and her ability to customize treatments that fit their needs. They also feel safe, informed and comfortable in her care.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys volunteering to help promote wellness and exercise, teaching pilates and promoting health education. You can also find her painting, doing yoga or babysitting her adorable niece.


Marie Kardjian, RN, BSN, MPA, Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Marie Kardjian RN, BSN, MPA, was the Clinical Supervisor for Maffi Plastic Surgery in Scottsdale, Arizona and has been recognized for her aesthetic injection techniques.  She specializes in dermal soft tissue fillers such as Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus,
Voluma, Volbella, Vollure, Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, Defyne, Refyne, Belotero and Sculptra.

As a clinical consultant for several medical companies, she has trained many physicians and health care professionals.  She is among the few registered nurses, who is also a licensed esthetician.  Marie’s nursing background enables her to incorporate true science and technology into leading concepts of advanced medical rejuvenating and anti aging treatments.

Marie is trained in the latest laser technology for permanent hair reduction, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) for vein and brown spot removal, as well as laser skin resurfacing and tightening treatments.  With her vast background, Marie can recommend the most appropriate skincare treatment for you.

Lauren Marini

Lauren Marini, BS, ADN, RN, Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Lauren Marini comes to SkinSpirit with over six years of experience in aesthetics and feels fortunate to be on the cutting edge of it. She’s passionate about helping her clients not only look and feel their best, but also empowering them with the knowledge of how to do so.

Lauren shares her aesthetics knowledge and experience with her clients through all of the special training she’s received from both Allergan and Galderma on BOTOX Cosmetic and dermal filler injections. Lauren is also trained on a number of different lasers within the industry, most recently the Sciton Joule platform.

With her role as an expert in the aesthetics field, the two treatments Lauren can’t stop talking about are laser hair removal and BOTOX® Cosmetic. Both treatments have changed Lauren’s life personally, as well as continuing to see a dramatic, positive difference in her clients’ professionally.

When not seeing clients in the treatment room, Lauren enjoys spending her free time travelling, reading, gardening, working on craft projects and practicing her Spanish. Lauren also volunteers with MedShare, an organization in San Leandro, California that procures medical donations from hospitals throughout the Bay Area and ships them to developing countries in need.

Kelly Meaux NP

Kelly Meaux, NP, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

Kelly Meaux is a seasoned Nurse Practitioner with two decades of medical experience and training.  She specializes in non-surgical treatments that deliver natural-looking results, and she is consistently recognized as one of the top anti-aging experts in San Francisco.

Kelly earned her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Central Florida and her M.S. in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University. After graduation, she worked in Cardiology and the Intensive Care Unit before moving into primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Kelly went on to receive advanced training in facial rejuvenation from Dr. Sam Naficy, one of the top facial plastic surgeons in the United States. Prior to SkinSpirit, Kelly served as Clinical Director at Golden Gate Skin Center and as an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner at Gentle Star Medical Spa. She continuously receives advanced training from major aesthetic companies for BOTOX® Cosmetic, dermal fillers, and innovative laser/light treatments.

Kelly is passionate about helping her clients feel better about themselves by enhancing their natural beauty. Her clients appreciate how calming their treatments can be with her, even for injections. She takes her time with each client to make sure they never feel rushed. To say Kelly loves her job is an understatement. When asked by her husband how her day was at work, she often replies, “Great! Annie Mullin, RN , Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Annie Mullin received her BSN in 1977, and has been in the nursing world ever since. During her career, she has specialized in the care and management of complex cardiovascular patients. With expertise in the CCU and Heart Failure clinic, she truly is a skilled and enthusiastic multitasker.

She became interested in aesthetic dermatology in 2002 while working with a dermatologist on the Peninsula. Accordingly, she joined the American Association of Dermatology Nurses.

Annie divides her time between Stanford Cardiology and SkinSpirit in Palo Alto. Annie is skilled and certified to perform laser hair removal, IPL (photofacial) and ActiveFX, our laser treatment that treats the three “T’s”: tone, texture and tightness. With abundant energy and youthful attitude, Annie welcomes skin consultations for all ages and believes that “Age is an attitude, and attitude is ageless.”

Melissa Naylor

Melissa Naylor, MSN, FNP, BC, Director for Rebalance Program

Melissa Naylor is a board-certified nurse practitioner who graduated from Vanderbilt University with her focus being in family practice.  She has a strong interest in education and counseling others with a personal touch to live a healthy, balance lifestyle through nutrition and exercise.

Melissa has been practicing aesthetics with a focus on laser technology and loves to ensure each treatment is individualized to one’s specific needs along with a pampering touch. She has also been involved in multiple television shows, community groups, and international organizations to discuss health topics and develop practical steps to achieve a balanced lifestyle.

Joy Sheppard, FNP, BSN, LE, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

For 10 years, Joy Sheppard has specialized in non-surgical treatments to enhance natural beauty. After experiencing eczema and acne growing up, Joy became inspired to launch a career in aesthetics as a medical aesthetician. Her passion for helping clients put their best face forward fueled her desire to advance her skills in the aesthetics field by becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Joy received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University of San Francisco and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Holy Names.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Joy takes a gentle and conservative approach in order to provide natural looking results for clients. In addition to her experience of working with clients in the treatment room, Joy has also worked as a Field Clinical Specialist for Merz Aesthetics where she trained other physicians on developing their skills and advanced techniques for cosmetic fillers and neuromodulators.

Joy believes in the power of dermal fillers. Whether a client wants a subtle lip enhancement, to refresh their undereyes or is looking for full face voluminization, fillers can work wonders for any of these desired results.

In her spare time, Joy enjoys spending time with family and weightlifting. She also enjoys volunteering her time to help friends and family who want to get physically fit. Joy believes a good quality life comes from taking care of both the heart and health.

Renae Spera, experienced Nurse in Walnut Creek, CA

Renae Spera, BSN, RN, aesthetic nurse specialist

After completing her Bachelors of Nursing from California State University, Sacramento, Renae Spera practiced medical surgical nursing for close to four years at a Sutter Hospital in California.

Renae decided to move to Australia where she began pursuing a career in aesthetics. She learned about Botox, Fillers and other non-invasive anti-aging treatments while working for a plastic surgeon. She launched a medical clinic with a plastic surgeon while she was in Australia as well. She grew her knowledge of injectable and non-surgical anti-aging treatments over the five years she was in Australia. She also learned how to run a successful small business.

Working in medical aesthetics in Australia, Renae was exposed to products not yet available in the United States. She loves achieving a true facial shape through combination treatment of dermal fillers in the temples, jawline, chin and cheek and applying Botox in the masseter muscles of the face. When she assesses a client, she likes working from the perimeter of the face inward.

Renae takes a holistic approach both her medical practice and her life. She likes to improve her health through exercise and balancing her mind, body and soul. She enjoys experiencing new cultures and traveling, or relaxing with a movie and glass of wine in her spare time.

Samsara Sterling, RN, BSN, Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

The juxtaposition of science and beauty inspired Samsara to pursue a career in medical aesthetics. Samsara Sterling graduated in 2014 with a BSN from Western Governors University School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, Utah. Samara has also received additional medical aesthetics training in advanced injectables from the National Laser Institute.

Samsara’s professional and personal experiences have fostered a deep commitment to delivering high quality, natural looking results. With her attention to detail and genuine care for her clients, Samsara’s interest in medical aesthetics is also firmly rooted in the belief that her clients always feel safe in her hands. Samsara takes pride in her ability to develop customizable treatment plans for each of her clients while managing their optimal beauty expectations.

Samsara eagerly looks forward to utilizing her wealth of knowledge in Botox, dermal fillers and laser hair removal to enhance and rejuvenate each of her clients’ natural beauty through achievable and amazing results.

In addition to her focus on helping her clients achieve their skincare goals, Samsara enjoys spending time frequently with her family. Outside of the clinic, she also enjoys gardening, cooking, travelling, entertaining, learning and networking.

Hannah Zare, MSN, FNP-C, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner

With over 22 years of experience in the medical and dermatology field, Hannah is a Nationally Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She’s a graduate of the McGill University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Hannah completed her graduate studies in Family Practice at Samuel Merritt University.

Hannah began her professional career at Stanford Medical University and has extensive experience in trauma, Neurosurgery, Oncology and Dermatology. Since becoming interested in dermatology and cosmetic surgery seven years ago, Hannah has specialized in a variety of skin conditions such as Rosacea, moderate to severe acne, pigmentary, vascular lesions, facial aesthetics and cosmetics.

With such an extensive background in medicine, dermatology and cosmetics, Hannah combines the science of skin with SkinSpirit’s state of the art technology into effective skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments. She has extensive experience in laser resurfacing, Ultherapy, intense pulsed light, laser hair removal, BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport, fillers and PRP for hair and skin rejuvenation. Hannah is passionate about helping her clients achieve the most natural, youthful results. She particularly enjoys the challenge of assisting clients to overcome difficult skin conditions. Hannah’s clients always compliment her on being caring, knowledgeable and an expert at what she does. Hannah truly enjoys working with her SkinSpirit team and values their team attitude.

In her free time, Hannah volunteers for the American Academy of Dermatology, performing skin cancer screenings. She’s also a consultant and guest lecturer for several pharmaceutical companies.

Hannah resides in Palo Alto with her family and dog, Coco.
