Chemical Peels in Los Gatos
What Is A Chemical Peel?
At SkinSpirit Los Gatos, we love chemical peels because they reveal the smoother, healthier skin below the surface.
Our peels tend to be stronger and deeper penetrating than resurfacing treatments, which are generally light and gentle.
How It Works
So how do chemical peels get your skin looking so radiant? They dissolve the connection that holds dead cells together on the surface of the skin, revealing the smoother, healthier skin beneath. There are a number of different types of peels available at SkinSpirit Los Gatos, and we can help recommend the best option for your goals after your complimentary consultation.
The SkinSpirit Experience
Chemical peels work from the inside of the skin out and peeling will take days to appear. Downtime is expected with these treatments but varies with each one.
Chemical peels typically take around 30 minutes.
Ideal for those with pigment abnormalities, acne and photo damage.
This chemical peel treatment is the next step above a Pumpkin/Pro–Retinol Peel and a Salicylic Acid resurfacing treatment — perfect for those wanting their first “chemical peel.” It addresses various skin conditions, such as hyper pigmentation, breakouts and sun damage.
The Vitalize Peel cannot be combined with any other treatment. A series of three treatments at our Los Gatos location is recommended for best results. Peeling will occur two days after application and last two to four days. Peeling results may vary with each treatment and for each person.
Modified Jessner Peel
Ideal for those with stubborn hyper pigmentation, moderate acne and oiliness.
More aggressive than a Vitalize Peel, this peel renews oily and ruddy skin while reducing the look of discoloration.
It cannot be combined with any other treatment. A series of three treatments is recommended for best results. Moderate shedding of the skin is expected. Peeling will occur 2 days after application and last 3-6 days. Results vary with each treatment and for each person.
Ideal for skin with visible sun damage, wrinkles and collagen depletion.
This peel is formulated to reduce the visible signs of moderate aging. Unlike the above, it can be combined with any other treatments at SkinSpirit Los Gatos (depending on your clinical aesthetician’s recommendation).
Mild to moderate shedding of the skin can be expected although peeling varies for each person and is not the indication of a successful peel. The improvement of skin may occur even without visible peeling. As a stand-alone treatment, a series of three sessions is recommended for best results.

Chemical peel treatments are more aggressive than resurfacing treatments and are designed to deliver optimal results.
Results vary depending on the treatment that best fits your skin type, but ultimately all chemical peels help skin look noticeably brighter, more even and smoother.
