What Is Laser Hair Removal?

How It Works

We use the LightSheer® DUET™ device for laser hair removal services in our Newport Beach skincare clinic, and are constantly updating our technology and tools to make sure you get the latest and greatest in hair removal.

The LightSheer DUET laser uses vacuum-assist technology to bring the targeted hair follicle closer to the treatment head. Through gentle suction, the treatment area is slightly stretched, allowing the laser energy to interact more efficiently with the desired target — melanin, or pigment, in the hair follicle.

The vacuum also pulls the hair follicles closer to the surface of the laser, allowing for deeper penetration and a reduced need for laser energy. In fact, LightSheer requires about 60% less energy for effective treatment than other laser devices. The laser energy is transferred directly to the follicle, damaging its ability to regrow.
