At SkinSpirit, Aquagold is one of our favorite skin rejuvenation treatments for producing a natural healthy glow, with minimal downtime.

It’s safe, natural, and a powerhouse for boosting collagen and elastin production. The result? You’ll notice the softening of fine lines and wrinkles, reduction of oil production and redness, and skin that just looks all around radiant. Talk about a glow up!

Benefits of Aquagold for the Skin

We talked to SkinSpirit experts throughout California, New York, Texas, Utah and Washington to get the skinny on all things Aquagold. There are many reasons why we love Aquagold, but here are just a few:

  • It’s quick - you’ll be in and out of the treatment room in 30 minutes - and since the needles are hair fine, it’s virtually painless too!
  • It’s a safe and natural collagen booster. Translation? Aquagold helps to soften the fine lines and wrinkles that form with age, improves skin texture and firmness.
  • Your skin will look overall healthy and glowing. Who doesn’t love a good glow up? Plus, your skin health just keeps getting better with each treatment.
  • Downtime is minimal - making it the perfect treatment to prep for any event.

What to Expect from an AQUAGOLD Treatment

According to Shawna Jones, Expert Practitioner in Newport Beach, "The AquaGold treatment is a form of manual microneedling with a gentle approach. The device contains not one but twenty 24-karat gold-plated microneedles that penetrate into the skin to deliver concentrated serums and skincare".

The procedure takes about 30 minutes and like we mentioned above, the needles are hair-fine, so the treatment itself is virtually painless. Because you’re injecting an active biologic that your body and skin is already familiar with, it’s also safe and natural.

This process stimulates collagen and elastin production, improves the look of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces oil production and redness, and leaves the skin glowing.

To get the best results, we recommend AquaGold treatments quarterly or monthly, depending on your goals and your provider’s recommendation, and an initial series of three treatments.

Shawna Jones, PA-C, also reminds us that “while the procedure has little to no downtime, I typically recommend the treatment two weeks prior to a big event,” giving your skin plenty of time to heal and showcase your best results.

Who Is a Good Candidate for AQUAGOLD?

AquaGold is great for those with fine lines and wrinkles and those who are looking to improve overall skin health.

But, Shawna recommends against it for those with active acne or skin infections, due to the potential spread of bacteria. “Patients with open wounds in the treatment area, those who have poor wound healing, tobacco smokers or those with collagen disorders would also be poor candidates,” she advises.
