Treat pigmentation concerns and melasma
What Is A Cosmelan Treatment?
Cosmelan is a treatment for stubborn melasma and chronic hyperpigmentation that is safe for almost all skin types. The treatment is done in two phases: first a peel is completed in the clinic, and then you’ll follow a very specific home care regimen, detailed for you by your SkinSpirit provider, for the next seven months.
How It Works
Melasma is a multifactorial skin disorder that is very difficult to treat successfully yet very easy to make worse. While improvement can be made on limited skin types (many current solutions are unsafe for darker skin types) to lighten or eliminate the melasma areas, it typically requires constant maintenance and strict avoidance of the main triggers (sun, heat..) With so many reasons the hyperpigmented spots appear on skin, and for each person there are different triggers and causes, no one solution has proven to be the fix.
Cosmelan is one-of-a-kind in that it contains the tried and true Hydroquinone, in addition to over 50 other active ingredients that help mitigate melanocyte overproduction. In short, it addresses melasma from several angles.
The SkinSpirit Experience
When you visit us for your Cosmelan treatment, we’ll get you started with a consultation to make sure you’re a great candidate. If you’ve had melasma, or other pigment concerns that aren’t treatable through lasers, or if you’ve used hydroquinone with no results, this may be a great service for you. Please give us a call at (855) 383-7546 so that we can set you up with one of our experts in California, Washington, Texas or Utah.
From there, your aesthetician will apply a leave-on mask, and supply you with all the instructions you need once you get home. Your in-clinic treatment will consist of a quick, 30-minute visit, but you’ll leave the clinic with what looks like a mud mask on your face, so we recommend you head straight home! This mask will stay on for 8-12 hours (it’s worth it!) and you will remove it at home as instructed. We’ll also provide you with a home care regimen containing special active creams that will continue working for you for the next seven month, so that your skin will look its clearest yet.
Because Cosmelan addresses melasma from several angles, more people will see success, and longer lasting, better correction. Improvement will come gradually over time, with pigmentation fading and skin becoming brighter throughout the seven month home care regimen.
