Prior to Your Appointment:
Stop any irritating products 5 days before your treatment.
Please inform your practitioner if you have a history of cold sores. We can dispense an antiviral medication to suppress the virus to help prevent a cold sore breakout as a result of the irritation from treatment.
Your skin will be red and hypersensitive to sun and heat, so be sure to schedule your treatment with that in mind.

Microneedling
Immediately after treatment:
- Your skin will feel hot and look flushed for a few hours after treatment.
- Avoid touching your skin but if you must, wash your hands before you do.
- If you added an optional catalyst:
- Avoid washing the treated area for a few hours post-application to allow optimal absorption.
- No make up application for 24 hours.
Day of Treatment (Day 0):
- Avoid touching your skin but if you must, wash your hands before you do.
- Try to avoid direct sun exposure.
- Gently cleanse your skin with a mild cleanser that does not contain any active ingredients.
- Apply the post-care cream ‘Rescue’ from your kit as often as needed during the first 24–48 hours, unless your catalyst already includes its own post-care products. In that case, use the provided products instead, as your skin will be especially sensitive during this time.
- If you added an optional catalyst:
- No makeup or harsh skincare products should be used for at least24 hours post-procedure.
Day after treatment (Day 1) through Day 7:
- Use a physical sunblock of 30-50 SPF to protect the healing skin. Try to avoid direct sun exposure.
- Continue with gentle cleanser morning and night.
- Use gentle moisturizer morning and night and as needed.
- As your skin begins to slough and lightly peel, it may feel dry (like sandpaper) no matter how much moisturizer is used. This is normal and will resolve once sloughing has subsided. This process may last for a couple of days.
- To assist the sloughing process, apply Marini SkinSolutions SkinZyme mask for 15-20 min, then gently remove with a clean wet washcloth once a day for 2-3 days until the sloughing has resolved.
After one week:
- Slowly resume your active products as tolerated.
- Continue with physical sunblock every day.
- Best results are usually seen between 2-3 months after treatment.
- Treatments are generally recommended once a month for an initial series of three followed by maintenance treatments once every six months. Be sure to discuss your individual goals with your practitioner as the process can vary depending on the goals.
Stamping
Day of Treatment:
- You can wash face with gentle cleanser that night.
24 Hours After Treatment:
- Avoid touching your skin but if you must, wash your hands before you do.
- Gently cleanse your skin with a mild cleanser that does not contain any active ingredients.
- Use only moisturizer and sunblock in skin care routine.
Continue with gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunblock only for the next 3-5 days and introduce regular skin care routine as tolerated.
