Note From The Doctor: How To Manage Winter Dry Skin

As the seasons change, so should your skincare routine. During the winter months, there’s less humidity in the cold air and when it’s breezy out, that dry air extracts moisture from your skin even faster. When you factor in the loss of humidity in the air, along with dry indoor heat and the dehydrating effects of long, hot showers, you have a recipe for seriously dehydrated skin. Give your winter skincare routine a boost by adding hydrating and moisturizing products to your regimen.

Need help finding the right winter products? Our clinical aestheticians at SkinSpirit are trained to analyze your skin type, troubleshoot your skincare routine and will suggest the best skincare products designed specifically for your skin type and condition.

And don’t forget, sunscreen isn’t just for summertime. The UV rays from the winter sun can still damage your skin. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, “Up to 80 percent of the sun’s UV rays can penetrate through clouds and fog.” Make sure you apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen to your face at least 30 minutes before going outside and remember to reapply once every two hours.
