Dr. Douglas A. Taranow has been practicing in Plastic Surgery in New York City for over 26 years. After completing his medical school training in New York in 1984, he was one of only two surgeons accepted in a two-year Plastic and Reconstructive surgical training, which included the care of burn and trauma patients. Dr. Taranow was board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgeons in 1997 and continues to proctor the oral plastic surgery board exams for new plastic surgery physicians for the past 14 years.
He is highly regarded by both his peers and patients and has lectured and performed live surgeries around the world, including in South Korea and Thailand, that were televised live to over 300 plastic surgeons! Dr. Taranow has also performed humanitarian surgery in Ecuador.

During his free time, Dr. Taranow enjoys playing ice hockey, visiting museum exhibits, travelling the world with his best friend and mom, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on sunny Sundays.
