SkinSpirit Aesthetics Department Manager Karen Fernandez has always wanted to relate with people on a topic that is positive, universal, and health-based. Skin care was a natural fit from the moment she realized it was a profession! She has now been licensed in Aesthetics for 28 years.

"I love helping people feel their best and contributing to them having their best skin possible", she says. "Along the way I cultivate these amazing friendships with my clients and co-workers, which feeds me and my love of connection and communication. My current role includes training the rising Esthetic stars, working with innovators and scientists and keeping SkinSpirit on the cutting edge. I work with amazingly savvy, strong and passionate people...it's a blast!"

When it comes to favorite treatments, Karen loves a classic Resurfacing facial utilizing microdermabrasion or dermaplaning, with a light chemical peel which will make your skin feel like new again.

But, she's always up-to-date on the latest trends too!  According to Karen, Micropenning is the current show stopper in aesthetics. Micropenning is a treatment that creates microscopic nano wounds to stimulate the skin, and improve tone and texture. "I love things that help build skin's strength and slow the aging process!" she says.

However, it's what you do at home that's the most important step and investment. Using the right products (targeted for your concerns) is best, and Karen loves to help strategize with her clients to create an easily manageable skincare routine. Clinical treatments will ensure your products work at an optimal level as well as be the best time to get advice on what you should be using. Home care routines need to evolve and be revisited periodically, help from your aesthetician is the best bet.

When she's not helping SkinSpirit clients and staff up their skin care game, Karen loves spending time with her family and daughters. She enjoys cooking (but mostly eating!), being with friends, travel, movies, and being outdoors.
