PDO threads are non-surgical treatments that lift and firm sagging skin using two dissolvable types: barbed threads for an instant facelift-like lift, and smooth threads to build a supportive under-skin framework.
Inserted via micro-needles, dissolvable PDO threads trigger collagen production and natural tissue repair as they break down, resulting in firmer skin.
Barbed threads are used primarily to anchor and lift sagging tissue upward for a more dramatic lifting effect. Smooth threads are utilized to create a subtle framework of support that improves skin texture and provides gentle elevation from within.
PDO threads smooth wrinkles, lift drooping skin around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead, while defining your jawline and softening deep facial lines like nasolabial folds.
PDO threads enhance skin architecture across the upper face, midface, neck, jowls, nasolabial folds, and décolleté.
Yes, PDO threads deliver a subtle, immediate lift with natural results and can be combined with injectables for optimal rejuvenation.
A single PDO thread lift procedure provides immediate structural lift and sustained collagen stimulation. Results typically last 12 to 18 months as the threads naturally dissolve, after which a maintenance session can be performed.
Mild to moderate downtime. You may experience mild tightness, swelling, minor bruising, or puckering along the insertion points for several days to a week. Most clients comfortably return to work within a few days.
Before your PDO Threads appointment, avoid NSAIDs, aspirin, fish oils, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, St. John's Wort, and other anti-inflammatories for 7 days prior to reduce bruising, and refrain from drinking alcohol for 24 hours beforehand. Eat a light meal, stay well-hydrated on the day of your treatment, and inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores so an antiviral (like Valtrex) can be prescribed. Please see full pre-treatment instructions here.
After your PDO Threads appointment, avoid picking at insertion sites, avoid direct face pressure or excessive facial movements (such as sleeping face down, wide yawning, or heavy chewing) for one week, and refrain from submerging under water or heavy exercise for 7 days. Mild soreness, tightness, or brief "zinger" nerve sensations are normal as skin heals, but contact the clinic immediately if a thread pokes through the skin or if you experience fever, drainage, or increased redness. Please see full post-treatment instructions here.
No. PDO thread lifts require specialized pre-procedure planning, discussion of downtime, and careful scheduling to accommodate minor swelling or bruising. Your consultation will map out your lifting strategy, and your procedure will be scheduled for a dedicated appointment. We recommend contacting your local clinic ahead of time to confirm.
