BBL (BroadBand Light) is an advanced non-invasive IPL photofacial that targets sun damage and vascular issues to reduce discoloration without harming the skin's surface.
Using targeted broadband light, IPL and BBL photofacials rapidly reduce sun damage, stubborn pigment, and vascular redness without damaging surrounding skin.
Your skin should look younger and clearer within 1-5 procedures.
Photofacials target a wide range of pigment and tone concerns, including sun damage, age spots, redness, rosacea, broken facial vessels, and dullness.
Photofacials can treat almost anywhere on your body, including your face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and other areas with regular sun exposure.
BBL is a treatment with minimal downtime.
Before your IPL or BBL Photofacial appointment, avoid sun and tanning bed exposure for 4 to 6 weeks prior, and stop using any products that cause redness or irritation 5 to 7 days before your session. Inform your provider of any medication changes—especially those causing photosensitivity—and let them know if you have a history of cold sores so an antiviral medication can be prescribed. Please see full pre-treatment instructions here.
After your IPL or BBL Photofacial appointment, your skin may feel slightly sunburned initially, and brown spots may darken and take on a "coffee grounds" appearance before flaking off over 7 to 10 days. Avoid direct or indirect sun exposure, apply a physical sunblock (zinc or titanium dioxide) daily, and use cold compresses or limit salt intake if swelling occurs. Contact the clinic immediately if you experience increasing heat or blistering. Please see full post-treatment instructions here.
In some cases, yes! If your skin has no active sun exposure, recent tanning, or contraindications, an IPL or BBL photofacial can occasionally be performed on the same day as your consultation. However, because strict pre-treatment sun safety is essential, your provider may recommend scheduling your session for a later date. We recommend contacting your local clinic ahead of time to confirm.
