Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that restore lost volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance contours—mostly using hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural body substance that keeps skin smooth and hydrated.
By injecting hyaluronic acid gels into specific skin layers, fillers lift hollow areas, attract hydration, and instantly restore age-related volume loss.
Dermal fillers are used to treat deep folds, fine lines, and thinning lips. SkinSpirit also uses them to improve facial symmetry and restore structure to areas like the temples, cheeks, and under-eyes.
Dermal fillers can enhance the entire face, including the lips, marionette lines, cheeks, chin, jawline, and nasolabial folds.
Dermal filler results are visible immediately after a single treatment session. Depending on the product used and the area treated, results typically last from 6 to 18+ months. Maintenance visits are scheduled as the product naturally metabolizes to keep your look refreshed.
Results are typically visible immediately after the injection. However, SkinSpirit advises that it can take up to two weeks for any minor swelling to subside and for the filler to fully settle into its final position.
The longevity of your results depends on the product used and the area treated. In general, SkinSpirit recommends maintenance appointments every 8–12 months. Your provider will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan based on your goals and needs.
SkinSpirit offers a wide variety of industry-leading brands, including the Juvéderm collection (Voluma, Vollure, Volbella), the Restylane family (Kysse, Contour, Lyft), Sculptra Aesthetic, and the RHA collection. (skinspirit to confirm)
Little to no downtime. You can resume most normal activities immediately, though mild swelling, tenderness, or minor bruising at the injection sites is common and typically resolves within a few days to two weeks. Many clients easily return to work right after treatment.
Common side effects include temporary swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection site. SkinSpirit providers discuss all potential risks during your consultation and provide aftercare instructions to help minimize these effects.
Most patients find the treatment very manageable. SkinSpirit uses fillers pre-mixed with lidocaine (a numbing agent) and offers topical numbing cream and ice before the procedure to ensure a comfortable experience.
Before your Dermal Filler appointment, stop taking blood-thinning supplements (like Omega-3s and Vitamin E), Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen 1 week prior to minimize bruising, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours. Notify your provider if you have had a vaccination, dental cleaning/procedure, recent illness, or antibiotic use within the past 14 days, as your session may need to be rescheduled. Please see full pre-treatment instructions here.
After your Dermal Filler appointment, expect temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, or temporary asymmetry as swelling resolves. Avoid heavy exercise, alcohol, and exposure to intense heat (like sunbathing or lasers) until initial swelling clears, and limit salt in your diet. Cold compresses help decrease swelling, warm compresses can ease bruising, and if you received Sculptra, remember to massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days. Please see full post-treatment instructions here.
It depends on the treatment! If you are trying something new, in many cases a consultation will be required to make sure you’re a great candidate.
Sometimes! While some dermal filler treatments can be performed on the same day as your consultation, it depends on your specific aesthetic goals, medical history, and provider availability. Because fillers require precise planning and artistry, your provider may recommend scheduling a dedicated treatment appointment. We recommend contacting your local clinic ahead of time to confirm.
